Outdated content check
This check looks for content that is out of date even though nothing is broken. Typical hits are expired offers, announcements of past events and details with a superseded date. The result appears immediately with an excerpt so you can find the passage in your own system.

What counts as outdated content
Outdated content is text that was true when it was written and is not true today. Nothing is broken, so no technical tool flags it — the page loads perfectly and says the wrong thing.
The most common cases are predictable: an offer with an end date in the past, an event page still written in the future tense, a team page listing someone who left, a year that stopped matching the calendar.
- Campaign and discount pages that outlived their period
- Event announcements after the event
- Opening hours from a previous season
- Team, price and program listings that were never revised
Why manual checking fails over time
Finding outdated text by hand is not hard, it is just easy to postpone. The pages that age fastest are rarely the ones you visit, because you work in the admin area, not on the public site.
A recurring automatic pass removes the memory problem. You are not asked to remember anything — you get a short message only when something has actually fallen out of date.
How outdated text gives itself away
Text is outdated when it makes a promise about time that no longer holds: a date, a period, a season, or a word like "new", "soon" or "starting today".
Because nothing is broken, no technical check finds these passages. Only people notice them — and visitors notice sooner than you do.
Häufige Fragen
- How is this different from an SEO tool?
- SEO tools measure visibility and technical health. This is only about whether the text is still true.
- Do I get the result by email?
- If you want. The email address is optional and only used after you confirm it.
- How many pages does the check read?
- Twenty-five pages per run on the free tier, and considerably more on the paid tiers. The most linked pages are read first.
- Does outdated content hurt search rankings?
- Not directly, but visitors who find wrong details leave again quickly, and that behaviour signals a poor match for the search.
